Nutritarian Diet Plan

Nutritarian Diet Plan The Nutritarian Plan The goal of the Nutritarian diet plan is to make sure that all the raw nutritions your body needs to maintain excellent health are supplied in the most favorable amounts. The Nutritarian Food Pyramid (A) Vegetables Eat lots of raw green vegetables and a big portion of cooked green vegetables every day. Shoot for one pound of raw vegetables daily. Cruciferous vegetables are those in the broccoli and cabbage family. They include kale, collards, broccoli, broccoli rabe, broccollina, Brussels sprouts, watercress, bok choy, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, mustard greens, arugula, kohlrabi, red cabbage, mache, turnip greens, horse radish, rutabaga, turnips, and radishes. Cruciferous vegetables contain phytochemicals that can prevent toxic compounds from causing DNA damage that could lead to cancer. Recommended Salad Vegetables Lettuces all varieties Onions and scallions Tomatoes Radishes Zucchini Cauliflower Carrots Sprouts Broccoli Fennel Baby bok choy Snow peas Cucumber English peas String beans Endive Snap peas peppers Celery Hearts of Palm Stewed Mushrooms (chilled) Water Chestnuts (B) Fruits, Beans, Nuts, Seeds, and Grain Products Fruits eat a few fresh fruits with breakfast and one with lunch and dinner. Limit dried fruits, such as raisins and dates, to a minimal amount as a flavor enhancer. No fruit juices. Beans up to a cup with each lunch and dinner, two cups total a day. Nuts and seeds one ounce a day for overweight females; 1.5 ounces for overweight males. Do not eat over 2 ounces per day if you are overweight. Make sure the seeds and nuts do not exceed one ounce when youre also eating the permitted amount of half an avocado. Grain products Grain products are lower on the nutrient density scale, so limit yourself to one serving per day of whole grain or intact grain. Avoid all grains products in phase one of the program. Intact grains are whole grains that have not been ground up into a fine powder so they are digested slowly and have a more favorable GL. (C) Animal Products, Refined Grains, Sweeteners, and Processed Foods Animal products Eliminate or limit animal products to 1-2 ounces per day of wild, low-mercury seafood or naturally raised fowl. Do not exceed 8-10 ounces per week for a woman and 10-12 ounces per week for a man. Avoid all animal products in phase one of the program, or if you are dealing with moderate or severe heart disease. Avoid whole milk, cheese, butter, and red meat. You can use nonfat dairy products could as a flavoring in small amounts once or twice a week. Refined Grains, High Starch Carbs, and Sweeteners Avoid all refined flour products, breads, white rice, white potatoes, precessed/cold breakfast cereals, sugar, and other sweetening agents. Processed Foods Read the label of packaged, processed products. Generally, avoid foods in packages. Note the sodium content of the packaged food items you purchase and look for foods that are labeled no salt added or low sodium. Be careful of products labeled reduced sodium; all that means is that they contain 25 percent less sodium per serving than the regular version of that food, which could still be very high. (D) Beverages Avoid soft drink, sports drink, or soda (regular or diet). No fruit juices. The Eating Plan Breakfast A few fresh fruits; or hot cereals made with intact grains; or squash-based breakfast soup; or baked eggplant Or a serving of coarsely ground whole grain bread with raw nut butter Try to eat one tablespoon of ground flaxseeds or chia seeds daily with breakfast Do not drink fruit juices Lunch A big salad with a nut/seed based dressing Vegetable bean soup One serving of fresh fruit Dinner A salad with a healthful dip A large plateful of steamed green vegetables A vegetable dish that has some starchy component or intact grain with it A small amount of fruit for dessert Desserts You can make fruit sorbets and ice creams in minutes by blending frozen fruit with some nuts or seeds, some dried fruits, and a splash of nondairy milk. Tips and Tricks for Nutritarian-Style Cooking Blending Make smoothies and blended salads by blending together raw leafy green vegetables, fruits, and seeds and nuts Make salad dressing by blending nuts, seeds, and avocados Make creamy soups by blending raw nuts into the soup Make fruit sorbets and ice cream by blending frozen fruit, dried fruit, nuts and seeds. Steaming Vegetables Boil water in a pot with a tight lid, then add the vegetables, cover, and start your timer. Stop steaming when the veggies have just started to become tender and still retain some firmness. Water-sautà ©ing and Cooking with a Wok Since you should limit oils in your diet, we recommend sautà ©ing vegetables with water or cooking them in a wok. These methods are preferable to boiling, baking, or roasting. To water-sautà ©, use a small amount of water to sautà ©; the vegetable, including onions and garlic. Heat a skillet, wok to high heat. Then add a tablespoon or two of water and add the vegetables and cook, covering occasionally. Add additional liquid as needed until the vegetables are tender, but dont add too much water. To wok or stir-fry, you cut ingredients into uniform-size pieces and give hard vegetables such as carrots, broccoli, cauliflower a head start before adding other softer vegetables. Do not overcook vegetables, which causes them to lose valuable nutrients. Cooking with Herbs and Spices for Flavor and Health Learn to use flavorful herbs and spices instead of salt to season your foods. Turmeric is a popular Indian spice that has a warm, mild flavor resembling a cross between ginger and orange. It gives Indian curry its flavor and yellow color. Studies have shown that Turmeric contains curcumin, which may reduce inflammation, help fight infections and some cancers, and treat digestive problems. Gingerroot has the ability to soothe nausea and gastrointestinal distress. Ginger helps to reduce the bodys inflammatory response. The sweet-spicy flavor of cinnamon enhances the taste of entrees, breakfast, and desserts. For people with diabetes, cinnamon may play a role in regulating blood sugar because it contains phytochemicals that enhance insulin signaling and facilitate glucose uptake and storage by the bodys cells. Radical Weight Reduction Menu Sometimes, a radical nutritional intervention is needed: To save the life of a person who is at high, short-term risk For psychological reasons, to get some radical results up front Because of intolerable medication side effects For an upcoming surgery or medical procedure that is too dangerous to pursue at the present body weight. For these and other reasons, a dietary design that is nutritionally superior yet more aggressively low in calories and glycemic load is needed. This takes the place of a fast or modified fast, and physicians can use it to achieve short- and long-term goals, as it is sage to maintain for extended periods or until the patient has lost the desired amount of weight. Weight loss of 40 pounds within the first two months can easily be achieved for obese individuals. The only documented risk of rapid weight loss is gallstone formation, which I have seen only rarely with this approach. The high fiber and nutrient levels and the use of nuts and seeds all limit bile production and stone formation. The easiest way to achieve this aggressive goal is to limit eating to two meals day. That means a late brunch around 10 am and an early dinner around 4 pm. When you do this, fat burn accelerates because you spend more time in the fat-burning phase of the digestive cycle. Once postprandial (after the meal) glucose levels have returned to baseline, the body increases its use of fat. The design of the menus that follow allow for mazimum fat burn by limiting tiem spent eating and digesting food. After the first three days, when withdrawal symptoms from unhealthy eating habits lessen considerably, you will not be uncomfortably hungry,.drinking a cup of lemon waterm green tea, or other herbal tea can help you avoid the desire to eat when you wake up in the monring. Note that this phase has only two fruit servings a day and a limited amount of nuts and seeds for further caloric reduction usually 1 ounce for women and 1 1/2 ounces for men. Stay with this phase until you and your doctor decide you are out of danger. It is important not to consume more than a very limited amount of caffeine, as it will enhance withdrawal symptoms making it much harder to not eat. Brunch 1 cup fresh or frozen berries or pomegranate kernels, covered with flax, hemp, or chia milk (made by blending 1 tablespoon of flaxseeds, chia seeds, or hemp seeds with 1 cup water and , if desired, some cocoa powder) Raw greens such as romaine lettuce hearts, baby greens, sliced peppers, fennel, or celery Choose one additional option: Oven-roasted, balsamic-glazed peppers, tomatoes, and onions with defrosted frozen asparagus or artichokes Eggplant baked until soft and served with water-sautà ©ed or diced raw onions and cinnamon Zucchini steamed with dill and onion Edamame and frozen peas with roasted garlic Early dinner A big green salad with lettuce, thin-sliced red onion, tomatoes, and other assorted vegetables and a healthy dressing. Or raw vegetables with a Nutritarian dip such as Italian Dressing with Roasted Garlic Choose one or more of the following options: A bowl of vegetable bean soup Defrosted frozen green vegetable such as broccoli, kale, collard greens, bok choy, string beans, or artichokes, steamed or cooked in a wok. These should be made with steamed or water-sautà ©ed mushrooms and can be flavored with mashed, roasted garlic, dry-pan-sautà ©ed, or diced raw onions. One serving of a low-sugar fruit, such as a green apple, orange, two kiwis, or strawberries Note that even foods that are moderately glycemic are reduced in this menu and are not included with breakfast because insulin resistance is highest in the morning.

Country Side

Country Side Freedom surrounds those who aspire to achieve lonesome from the rest of the world. The perfect getaway is something that most people deserve once in a while. Complete solitary from everything and everyone nothing but fields for miles and miles away. The country side has a lot to offer the spectacular view and stunning landscape. It doesn’t matter whether it is winter, spring, fall or summer because either of these seasons changes the fact of how admiring the view is from a far. I am a victim of this ignorance. I never realize how precious and beautiful the country side is until I saw Harvey George W. ainting, New England Landscape, at the Andersons Gallery in Beverly Hills that opens my eyes into larger sense of beauty and strength. Harvey George W. was known for his Techniques of Fly Tying Fishing. Harvey was born on November 14, 1911, in Dubois, Pennsylvania. His father Archibald accepted a job as a stock farmer in Lansdale, Pennsylvania. That’s where he got inspired by painting the New England from his childhood memories. While Harvey was in the farm he had learned so many things and to appreciate what was handed to him, he did not come from a wealthy income family and all he could have done is go by what his expectation were. His Father Archibald teaches him how fish by the stream right off the stream. Even more he was being afflatus by the nature that surrounded him. Harvey is not a well-known artist but more for his achievements at Penn State University. At Penn State he teaches Fishing Tying for the first Time in history and that class was accredited in 1947. Also he got offered to run in the Olympics but then he was diagnosed with pneumonia and did not get to compete. In my perspective view, seeing this painting of the country side makes me want to forget about life and go there to escape from the everyday basis. The scenery is breath taking. The tree that is located on the center left hand is perfected it reflects how privacy i s supposed to be like. The stack of hay behind the giant tree is a symbol of freedom. The hay represents how everyone who would like to be stress free can just hide behind a tree and forget about their existence. The farm town is far away like it’s supposed to be and endless fields. This portrait reminds me of my own family ranch in Mexico; it made me realize that I am taking that part of my life for granted. Research Design Essay

In determining a research question it is important to know that this is the most critical aspect of the research. The research question will define the process, it will also guide the direction of the arguments and inquiries. The research question will provoke the interest of the reviewer. When there is a research question that does not work, it does not matter how strong the research is, it will be unsuccessful. In order to write a strong research question, it takes time. It is important to determine what lead you to the topic. Why does it matter? Start to formulate the questions by following the interest in the research question. A lot of time should be spent on researching and writing about the anticipated project. I have chosen bullying laws, should the state or federal government put laws into place to prevent bullying. This is important to me because it is something that I can relate to. Bullying has received a lot of attention in a lot of school shooting and other related incidents of violence. Bullying is a serious issue and is worth of rational attention, awareness and action. My hypothesis will be, bullying has become a major problem in schools and has been shown to lead to a lot of problems, even later in life. Bullying has become something that a lot of people have been thinking about and is something that has received a lot of different forms of attention. But, this is something that will be explored in elementary students, to put it better, why do certain students become bullies. This hypothesis is definitely both null and alternate because the null hypothesis states that just because the null hypothesis is not rejected does not mean that the statement is true. For example, some people believe that kids will be kids so it is no big deal, but that is why it is important to pin point why the child is doing what he/she is doing. The alternate studies different avenues when exploring the hypothesis. This hypothesis I believe is a quantitative design. I think this because the quantitative design s a formal, objective, systematic process for obtaining information about the world. A method is used to describe, test relationships, and examine the cause and effect relationships. So, when determining whether certain laws should be in place is always something that should be formal and systematic. The cause and effect relationship could be that bullying sometimes cause deaths which is the effect of bullying. This hypothesis is a descriptive design. Typical descriptive design examines the characteristics of a single sample. The hypothesis relates to comparative descriptive design because it compares two or more groups that occur naturally in a setting, while exploring differences. A case study is something that will need to be done in order to test the hypothesis. A case study is an intensive exploration of a single unit of study such as, the person, the family, the group, the community or the institution. Nominal scale is basically a way to categorize or group behavior. This is when the actual numbers are simple labels and identifiers. For example, if you wanted to know who endures the most bullying, you can separate them into female aggression and male aggression and then label the groups â€Å"1† and â€Å"2. † Ordinal scales are more precise than nominal scales. An ordinal scale is basically a set of rankings. So when using the ordinal scale you can put kids in to a ranking by popularity. You can have the kids placed in groups by the number of friends that they have. So those who don’t have any friends will be 1 and those having more than one friend will be 2 and so on. The interval scale is the same as the ordinal scale, but just showing differences of those 1 and 2 on an interval scale is the same as the difference between 4 and 5. Descriptive statistics are important because if presented with raw data it would be difficult to visualize what is showing in the data. This is especially true when there is a lot of data to read. Descriptive statistics will enable the data to present it in a meaningful way. This will allow for a less complex interpretation of the data. For example if we polled 100 students on whether or not they have ever been bullied, we may be interested in the overall behavior of those students. We would be interested in the gender and age of those students. Descriptive statistics will allow us to be able to do this. It will allow us to accurately describe data through statistics and graphs in a vital subject and to be discussed in other guides. There are many times when we do not have access to the entire population that you are interested in investigating. For example you might be interested in the bullying in the UK. It is not reasonable to measure all the bullying in the schools in the UK. It would be more logical to measure smaller samples of students, like 100 students, which will be used to represent the larger population group of students in the UK. I believe that descriptive statistics would be a better choice for this study. Frequency distribution shows the summarized grouping of data, it is divided into mutual select classes.

Running head: SINGLE SUBJECT RESEARCH DESIGN Single Subject Research Design Abstract The following paper presents the use of an ABA single subject research design in evaluating a 16 year old foster youth’s behavior, and the use of an intervention on decreasing negative behavior and increasing positive behavior. Use of the ABA design, factors to be evaluated, treatment variables, implementation of the research design, data gathering, and data analysis are all discussed. Limitations of single subject research designs are also presented. Finally, graphed data is attached in the appendix. Over the past few†¦show more content†¦After the 10 week counseling program was completed, the foster mother continued to collect data on cutting, episodes of anger and going for a walk when angry for four weeks. This served as the follow-up or second A period. Data Analysis If behavior change occurred, the frequency of Halle’s cutting would be highest during the baseline phase, should decrease in the intervention phase, and the decrease in the behavior should continue or be maintained throughout the follow-up phase (Bloom, Fischer amp; Orme, 2006). The frequency of the walks should increase in the intervention phase and increase or be maintained during the follow-up phase, if the intervention was successful regarding this treatment variable (Bloom, Fischer amp; Orme). To analyze the data, first enter the data into an Excel spreadsheet. Baseline followed by treatment data would be entered in one column on the spreadsheet in order by week. Using the Excel functions, calculate the mean and standard deviation of the baseline. For cutting, the mean was 10.75, and the standard deviation 1.5. For walking, the mean was .75, and the standard deviation .95. Next, calculate the upper boundary by adding the mean and standard deviation, and the lower boundary by subtracting

Racism And Severe Anxiety Of Black Americans Essay

â€Å"Niggerezation is neither simply the Dishonoring and devaluing of black people nor solely the economic exploitation and political disenfranchisement of them† is said by Cornel West in Niggerezation where he utterly explains how It takes steps into niggerization. It is a waiting process, not made simply over-night. Individuals have a full range of emotions and life experiences. Black America is strong although â€Å"Black America† is more of a symbol and an idea than it is a place or a fact. Black Americans are not a standing stone, or a hive mind. They are individuals who have a shared experience of racialization in a society formed around both maintaining and protecting white privilege and white supremacy. Black America feels and worries about the victims of police thuggery and violence not because of racial tribalism The sum effect of the continual violence against black Americans by the United States’ police, the efforts to blame the country’s first black president. The connection between racism and severe anxiety stresses the negative impact that discrimination has on society. Ultimately, racial battle is manifest by the diminished life spans by increasing suicide rates among black children and other indices of the toll that day-to-day life in a racist society takes on the emotional, physical and financial health of black and brown Americans. Perplexed Poe Essay Example For Students

Perplexed Poe Essay Poe is a very complicated author. His literary works are perplexed, disturbing, and even grotesque. His frequent illnesses may have provoked his engrossment in such things. In 1842 Dr. John W. Francis diagnosed Poe with sympathetic heart trouble as well as brain congestion. He also noted Poes inability to withstand stimulants such as drugs and alcohol (Phillips 1508). These factors may have motivated him to write The Tell-Tale-Heart, The Cask of Amontillado, and The Black Cat. All of these stories are written in or around 1843, shortly after Poe became afflicted. His writing helped him to cope with his troubles and explore new territory in literature. Poes interest in the supernatural, retribution, and perverse cause them to be included in his burial motifs; therefore sustaining his interest. There is a common thread laced through each subject, but there is variation in degrees of the impact. The supernatural is the phenomena of the unexplained. With this comes an aura of mystery and arousal of fear. Death in itself is the supreme mystery. No living human being can be certain of what happens to the soul when one dies. It is because of this uncertainty that death is feared by many. These types of perplexing questions cause a reader to come to a point of indifference within one of Poes burial motifs. One is uncertain of how the events can unfold, because a greater force dictates them. Reincarnation in The Black Cat is a supernatural force at work. There is some sort of orthodox witchcraft-taking place. The whole story revolves around the cat, Pluto, coming back to avenge its death. One can not be sure how Plutos rebirth takes place, but it is certain that something of a greater force has taken hold. The cats appearance is altered when the narrator comes across it the second time. There is a white spot on the chest by slow degrees, degrees nearly imperceptibleit had, at length, assumed a rigorous distinct outlineof the GALLOWS (Poe 4). Foretelling the narrators fate a confinement tool appears on the cats chest. This also foreshadows the cats confinement in the tomb. It reappears like a disease to take vengeance on a man that has committed horrid crimes. I was answered by a voice within the tomb! By a cry, at first muffled and broken, like the sobbing of a child, and quickly swelling into one long, loud and continuous scream, utterly anomalous and inhumana howla wailing shriek, half of honor and half of triumph (Poe 6). Pluto is like Poes reoccurring illness it keeps coming back just when he thinks it is gone. This can be related to the ever-looming question of why people become afflicted with disease. Is it punishment for wrongdoing? Some religions find this to be the answer. Poes intrigue in reincarnation may have been in that of his own immortality. Metaphysical events take place in The Tell-Tale-Heart. The perpetrator is driven by some unknown source to reveal his evil deed. The paranoia he feels is very real to him. I fancied a ringing in my earsit became more distinctI found that the noise was not within my earsIt is the beating of the hideous heart of the old man (Poe 3). Ringing is heard only in the mans head, but because a impetus has compelled him to believe otherwise he is inclined to reveal his misdeed. His unconcern for mankind causes his own insanity. .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 , .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .postImageUrl , .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 , .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50:hover , .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50:visited , .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50:active { border:0!important; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50:active , .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50 .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u0c7a84f57ad0bd779a73a90e5cb32a50:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: describe producer/consumer, predator/prey, and parasite/host relationships...
